Our Story

Dakota Venture Group (DVG) was founded in 2006, propelled by a generous contribution from Bart Holaday and the Dakota Foundation. Inspired by the prospect of igniting young minds in the realm of venture capital, Bruce Gjovig and Bart Holaday set out to uncover the transformative power this idea could hold for students and the industry as a whole.

Our Journey So Far

2006

DVG WAS FOUNDED

Dakota Venture Group was originally formed as a committee within the Center for Innovation, as the nation's first student-led venture capital investment group.

2007

THE INNOVATION FUND LAUNCHED

Through a $300,000 donation from the Dakota Foundation, DVG established the "Innovation Fund" as it's first non-profit investment fund.
